So here goes...we're starting off the new year with a new way to keep up with friends and family. And there were actually several firsts that happened today: It's the first day of the year, this is our first blog entry and we had our first BBQ in 15-degree weather! We wanted to celebrate the new year somehow, so we fired up the grill and celebrated in true Texas fashion! Céilí and Kenny joined me outside to watch the fire and try out their new wagon they got from Santa, but they didn't last too long out there. I'm sure the neighbors think we're nuts, but it's hard to keep a Texan away from his grill! It was actually pretty fun, and it was actually the second time we've grilled...but the first time it was just a balmy 19-degrees outside. :) At least the beer stayed cold anyway.
Yesterday we had to withdraw our offer on a house that we were hoping to buy. It was an older home, built in 1920, and in great shape. It has a lot of things we like that give it some
real charm, and it was priced right too. Unfortunately, our current landlord didn't want to make it easy for us to break our lease so we had to call it off at the last minute. So now it's back to waiting until September to make the move into something more permanent. Maybe it was meant to be, only God knows. We'll just keep praying that the right opportunity comes up at the right time and we'll be ready to take advantage of it.
